Course details
This 2-day training course is designed to help you achieve the PRINCE2 Practitioner qualification, which is widely regarded as essential for managing projects using PRINCE2. The training is delivered by Knowledge Train’s founder – Simon Buehring – who has been based in Japan since 2014.
You will be able to undertake this course if you have either passed the PRINCE2 Foundation exam, or have completed the PMP, CAPM, or one of the IPMA Levels A, B, C or D. Proof of passing any of these qualifications will be required in the form of a certificate.
Our courses are designed and taught to give you the greatest chance of passing your exams. At the end of the course you will take your PRINCE2 Practitioner examination. By studying with us, you can have the best chance of passing your exam. That’s because our PRINCE2 Practitioner exam pass rate since 2012 has averaged 83%, 10% higher than the average.
We also like to save you time. Our exclusive online pre-course study materials will help you to re-familiarise yourself with PRINCE2 before you start the course. We’ve pinpointed the essential aspects of the PRINCE2 syllabus in the preparation materials, with the major advantage that you can prepare for the course in just 3-4 hours, instead of the 16+ hours required by many other training providers.
Knowledge Train is based in Tokyo and London and is a PRINCE2 Accredited Training Organisation, which means you can be confident that our courses conform to the highest standards of project management training.
Why this qualification?
The PRINCE2 Practitioner qualification is the next highest level after the PRINCE2 Foundation qualification. The PRINCE2 Foundation qualification enables you to work as an informed member of a project team, whereas the Practitioner shows you can apply PRINCE2 to non-complex projects.
If you are looking to manage projects rather than support them, then the PRINCE2 Practitioner course is for you.
Who is this for?
The PRINCE2 Practitioner qualification is your ideal starting point to begin managing your projects effectively. If you have not yet taken the PRINCE2 Foundation course, a more suitable option would be the combined Foundation & Practitioner course
If your career goals differ from the ones listed please feel free to discuss your goals with our specialist advisors by contacting us here.
I currently work as a member of a project team and want to start managing them
If you have passed your PRINCE2 Foundation exam previously, you have most likely been able to practice PRINCE2 within your project. The PRINCE2 Practitioner qualification will qualify you as a registered PRINCE2 Practitioner which shows that you are able to manage non-complex projects using PRINCE2.
I want to put PRINCE2 on my resume
If you are currently seeking a job in project management, then becoming PRINCE2 certified will increase your chances of employment, especially with UK and EU-based businesses or governments. If you work in the development sector, you will also find that many jobs with the United Nations requires PRINCE2 certification.
I want to change career into project management
You will find that PRINCE2 is widely recognised as an essential starting point when looking for many jobs, not just project management jobs. This is especially the case if you are seeking work with a UK or European business, government or development sectors (e.g. the UN).
Even if you want to make a complete career change you will find that many jobs require project management skills that are transferable.
One thing to remember however, is that if you want to work in project management, gaining a full Practitioner qualification is recommended. PRINCE2 Practitioner is a higher-level qualification and shows you can apply PRINCE2 to simple projects.
Remember the pre-requisites for sitting the Practitioner exam is either of these:
- PRINCE2 Foundation or
- PMI-PMP or
- PMI-CAPM or
- IPMA Levels A, B, C or D.
If you don’t have one of these qualifications already, a more suitable course for you would be the PRINCE2 Foundation & Practitioner course.

If your organization wants to train its staff in PRINCE2 then we can help. Our knowledgeable and dedicated trainer based in Japan can help your staff get quickly up to speed with PRINCE2 and help them gain professional PRINCE2 Practitioner certification as well.

Course and exam structure
The bulk of the PRINCE2 Practitioner course builds on your existing knowledge of PRINCE2, by showing you how to apply the method to a non-complex project scenario. In this way you will be well-prepared for the various styles of exam questions.
The course lasts for 2 days. There is some pre-course reading of approximately 3-4 hours. Homework of approximately 2 hours per night will be set.
At the end of the second day you will sit the Practitioner exam. This is a 2.5-hour multiple choice open-book exam containing 68 questions and you must score a minimum of 38 correct answers to pass.
Our PRINCE2 Practitioner exam pass rate since 2012 has averaged 83%, 10% higher than the average.

Overall was very enjoyable
Very intense, but overall was very enjoyable. I completed the Foundation exam a year ago, and returned to Knowledge Train for the Practitioner course because the trainers are excellent. We received very good pre-course study and course materials too.

Excellent trainer
Really good. Gave me the confidence needed to pass the exam. The trainer's tips were very useful. The course materials were good. Not too demanding, but provides enough guidance to prepare for the exam. We had an excellent trainer with a very good understanding of the exam and of what is required to pass. Very happy I chose this course.
