Course details
This 2-day training course in Tokyo includes everything you need to gain PRINCE2 Foundation certification. The training is delivered by Knowledge Train’s founder – Simon Buehring – who has been based in Japan since 2014.
The PRINCE2 Foundation qualification shows that you know the PRINCE2 terminology, concepts and methodology.
Our courses are designed and taught to give you the greatest chance of passing your exams. This is reflected in our PRINCE2 Foundation pass rate of 99.5%.
Our exclusive online pre-course study materials have pinpointed the most essential aspects of the PRINCE2 syllabus. This is a big advantage for you because you can prepare for the course with confidence.
Knowledge Train is based in Tokyo and London and is a PRINCE2 Accredited Training Organisation (accredited by PEOPLECERT on behalf of AXELOS), which means you can be confident that our courses conform to the highest standards of project management training.
Why this qualification?
With this qualification you will be able to work as an informed member of a project team. It is a pre-requisite for taking the PRINCE2 Practitioner qualification which is recommended if you manage projects.
The PRINCE2 Foundation course is also ideal if you are looking for a career change, as no previous project management experience is necessary.
The PRINCE2 Foundation training course is designed to give you a thorough understanding of PRINCE2. You will learn about the PRINCE2 approach to projects – its principles, themes, processes, and techniques, and you will be well prepared to pass the PRINCE2 Foundation exam at the end of the training course.
Who is this for?
A PRINCE2 Foundation course is your ideal starting point if you are working on a PRINCE2 project team. Many of our delegates take the Foundation course with the aim of applying their PRINCE2 knowledge at work. They then go on to study the PRINCE2 Practitioner later after gaining more experience of PRINCE2.
If your career goals differ from the ones listed please feel free to discuss your goals with our specialist advisors by contacting us.
I want to learn new skills to use at work
As a delegate taking our PRINCE2 Foundation course you will become equipped with the terminology and knowledge about how PRINCE2 works. You will immediately be able to go back to work and speak this new vocabulary and be able to act as an informed member of a project team.
Even if you do not regard yourself as a project manager in a formal sense but just find yourself more involved in projects at work you will benefit from this course.
I want this qualification for my resume
Even if you are an experienced project manager you can benefit from a PRINCE2 Foundation course. You might have found that not having PRINCE2 on your resume is hindering your job search. That’s where this course will help you.
Although taking a PRINCE2 Foundation course doesn’t qualify you as a registered practitioner, having PRINCE2 Foundation on your CV will instantly increase your chances of employment. Alongside your previous project experience, it shows that you know the PRINCE2 terminology and are capable of working as an informed member of a PRINCE2 project team.
I want to change career into project management
You will find that PRINCE2 is widely recognised as an essential starting point when looking for many jobs, not just project management jobs. This is especially the case if you are seeking work with a UK or European business, government or development sectors (e.g. the UN).
Even if you want to make a complete career change you will find that many jobs require project management skills that are transferable.
One thing to remember however, is that if you want to work in project management, gaining a full Practitioner qualification is recommended. PRINCE2 Practitioner is a higher-level qualification and shows you can apply PRINCE2 to simple projects. In that respect, a more suitable course for you would be the PRINCE2 Foundation & Practitioner course.
If you would prefer to self-study at home, our online PRINCE2 courses would be suitable.

Plenty of useful examples
Intensive course. Lots of information to get through. However, the trainer was excellent. He kept the pace going with plenty of useful examples. He had great humour, which is vital as PRINCE2 is dry and overwhelming. Venue was fine and we received good pre-course study materials.

Very thorough and helpful
The course was thorough and gave me a solid understanding of PRINCE2. I now feel I can put it into practice when working on projects at my organisation. Our trainer was very knowledgeable and really knew his way around the PRINCE2 book. His hints and tips for the exam really helped me too. It is a fast-paced course with a lot of homework, but overall, I really enjoyed the course and found it helpful.

Well-paced and inclusive training
This course was incredibly useful, both in explaining PRINCE2 and how to pass the exams. Our trainer, Kobus, had good facilitation skills. He layered information and used real-life examples. Our materials were detailed enough and nicely laid out in a visual manner. We received well-paced and inclusive training from Kobus overall. the venue was very good, with refreshments and comfy chairs.

A good insight into PRINCE2
Very informative course. It gave a good insight into PRINCE2 and how it can be applied to the real world, as well as the negative aspects of the method. I found all of the materials very useful. The revision guides helped me gain a very good understanding of the basics, with their colourful diagrams. The trainer's delivery style was excellent. He made it fun as well as being very intuitive - he could answer all of our questions in an instant.
